HAROLD AND KUMAR

Cinematic stoner Kal Penn recently left the acting world to work in the Obama administration but he may be putting in one last celluloid hurrah to close out the HAROLD AND KUMAR trilogy since Warner Bros. today announced that the third film in the series, A VERY HAROLD AND KUMAR CHRISTMAS, will be released on November 5th, 2010.

Actually, in all likelihood, the part will probably be re-cast since Penn likely can't take a quick break to film a movie, much less one about stoners who do crazy shit with alterno-Neil Patrick Harris.

Nothing else is known about the film beyond the release date but it'll probably deliver more of the same, only at Christmas, which is all you can really ask for.

Extra Tidbit: As long as they get NPH back, it's all good.

and while you're at it recast Chong for the next Cheech and Chong movie. Nobody will notice. Who cares about chemistry and continuity? Those aren't needed for this kind of movie. Die Hollywood, die.

hmm...
you have to have kal penn in the movie, no one else can play kumar besides him. If they get someone else they might as well make it straight-to-dvd. Second NPH can be in the movie as a christmas ghost, since he died in the 2nd one that would work.

If they do this movie, 1st gotta have Kal Penn, second the story has to be good, and it can be because really its a story of two normal guys getting into crazy situations...since NPH was written out, if they bring him back, its gotta make sense. Third, I just hope its good and not so so that it goes to straight DVD.

Do the movie without Kumar. I'm not a Penn hater, (He is a funny actor) just a believer in not quitting on a franchise. If they can somehow write a good enough story utilizing all of the other H&K characters, they can do without Penn.

Look at Next Friday. I thought that was hilarious, and it's a stoner sequel made without the Smokey character.

If Kal Penn isn't in this it's not worth making. I, for one, am a fan of the series BECAUSE of John Cho and Kal Penn (and of course NPH).

The only way I see that they'll replace Penn is if they do a "prequal" movie when the duo we're teenagers. Get the the Indian kid from Paul Blart and some Asian kid, it doesn't matter who (they all look alike, pick anyone [BTW I'm Asian, it...

According to the link, EDGE OF DARKNESS is coming out at the end of January. Pretty low profile for Mel Gibson's first acting role in seven years. Probably not a coincidence that it's the same weekend TAKEN opened on this year.
