This new trailer for Don Coscarelli's John Dies at the End amps up the bizarre comedy and horror

I have been waiting to see more footage from Don Coscarelli's adaptation of the novel JOHN DIES AT THE END and this new trailer delivers everything I was waiting for. You have a better look at Morgan Freeman (the name the characters give the black cop), the meat man, and the other wacky things that inhabit this gonzo world.

Based on the novel by David Wong, JOHN DIES AT THE END is a wacky mix of horror and comedy. This trailer perfectly captures the insane story and I even spotted Dave talking on a hot dog! Don't worry, the movie will make sense when you see it.

Plot: It's a drug that promises an out-of-body experience with each hit. On the street they call it Soy Sauce, and users drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human. Suddenly a silent otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John and David, a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs. Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity? No. No, they can't.

Paul Giamatti, Chase Williamson, Rob Mayes, Clancy Brown, Glynn Turman, and Doug Jones star in the movie written and directed by Don Coscarelli. The movie opens in theaters on February 1st, and On Demand starting December 27th.

Extra Tidbit: I am halfway through the sequel THIS BOOK IS FULL OF SPIDERS (SERIOUSLY DUDE, DON'T TOUCH IT!). I think it may be crazier than the original!

I'm not usually a fan of the absurdist comedy-horror genre, but this trailer looks great and I've heard a lot of good things about the book though I haven't read it. I love the intonation of the old-school trailer voiceover...this one looks interesting!

Looks really fresh. I'll definitely keep an eye out for this on Netflix or whatever.

Bitchin' trailer!

Really looking forward to seeing this one. I love the book so much! And when "This Book is Full of Spiders" came out, it became the second novel I'd ever read in one sitting. I'd say that it's less consistently funny, but it's got a much more coherent narrative that makes up for it. Brilliant stuff!
