Agent Elvis gets a final trailer, cast and release date

The final trailer for the upcoming animated series Agent Elvis has arrived, giving more glimpses to this month’s show.

Agent Elvis

Thank you, thankyouverymuch. Netflix has released the official trailer for the upcoming animated series Agent Elvis, which finds Matthew McConaughey voicing a fictionalized version of Elvis Presley.

Elvis has been a hot commodity as of late, with the most notable depiction being Austin Butler’s in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, which could very well earn him an Oscar. McConaughey will not only be joining Butler, but a plethora of others that have portrayed the icon such as Kurt Russell, Michael Shannon, Bruce Campbell, and others. The list of animated Presley’s is much more limited.

Matthew McConaughey has one of the most distinct voices in movies, so his casting will definitely be a must-see for fans. He has also leant his vocal talents to Kubo and the Two Strings and the Sing movies.

The voice cast also includes Kaitlin Olson, who “enjoys annoying Elvis but is always mission-focused”; Johnny Knoxville playing Elvis’ best buddy; Niecy Nash as a “strong-willed mother figure who…is the only one who can go toe-to-toe with Elvis”; Tom Kenny as a former NASA monkey; and Don Cheadle as a “mysterious spy master who runs the covert agency” that Elvis joins. Priscilla Presley, the former wife of Elvis, serves as an executive producer. She, along with a staggeringly stacked host of others including Ed Helms, Kieran Culkin, Fred Armisen, Simon Pegg, and George Clinton, will cameo.

Agent Elvis’ official plot: “Elvis Presley trades in his jumpsuit for a jet pack when he is covertly inducted into a secret government spy program to battle the dark forces that threaten the country he loves – all while holding down his day job as the King Of Rock And Roll.”

Agent Elvis is considered the first adult animated work by Sony Pictures Animation, who is best known for the Academy Award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The project was first ordered back in 2019.

Agent Elvis will be cruising to Netflix on March 17th.
