Blood & Bastards!

If someone were to sum up a certain horror premise for you as SHAUN OF THE DEAD meets THE OFFICE, what would you think? If your answer is along the lines “Holy shit, that sounds like fun”, then we’d have something in common. How fortunate for us that a certain forthcoming flick has that exact description! Plus, it also has one fittingly bad-ass title: BLOODSUCKING BASTARDS. Even though I think “vampires” when I hear “bloodsucking” (SHAUN was about zombies), I’m definitely still willing to hear how the plot goes:

A low-level employee slacker, after being dumped by his girlfriend (who is also his co-worker), thinks that the only way she will ever take him back, is if he receives the coveted VP promotion. However, when his boss introduces his high school nemesis to the company as their newest addition to the team, our hero must find a way to get back the girl, and save his fellow employees from being turned into Vampires.

Yeah, I’m thinking that synopsis is being purposefully left a little vague. Hence, I feel that BASTARDS may be packing the potential to surprise a lot of peeps. I’ve always been a fan of the “slacker makes bloody good” stories in horror (like SHAUN and DANCE OF THE DEAD). The flick was written by Ryan Mitts with Argonaut Pictures producing. The script is currently on the hunt for a director.
