No, that headline is not a joke. There is a trailer out there for a movie that itself is a feature length run time. How can this be possible? Well, your trailer has to be long when the film itself runs 720 hours.

The Film Stage shared the trailer for AMBIANCE, the soon to be longest film of all time, from director Anders Weberg. The Swedish artist plans to share the 72-minute trailer only for the next couple of weeks before it is taken down entirely. He then plans to share a 440 minute trailer in 2016, followed by a 4320 minute version in 2018. The full 43200 minute film will be screened beginning December 31, 2020 and run for the entire month of January.

If you are scratching your head, AMBIANCE is a non-narrative film about “space and time is intertwined into a surreal dream-like journey beyond places…an abstract nonlinear narrative summary of the artist’s time spent with the moving image.” Weberg is planning screenings on every continent and after it concludes, the film will be destroyed.

While projects like this may not be for every taste, they certainly are ambitious and unique. Whether the film itself is worth watching may depend on your stamina and ability to pay attention. For now, you can check out the trailer below.
