If you thought Hugh Jackman reprising Wolverine aka Logan for Deadpool 3 was exciting, leaked set photos now show the return of Sabretooth, as played by original portrayer Tyler Mane. Reports (via @danielRPK) have also come in that Toad will also be in the movie with Ray Park again assigned to the character.

As per The Mirror, the Deadpool 3 photo shows a run-in between Sabretooth and Merc with the Mouth and Wolverine. At the risk of spoilers over the scene, we won’t directly post the pic in this article. However, if you want to catch a glimpse of Mane as his X-Men character, click here.

Both Sabretooth and Toad made their big screen debuts in 2000’s X-Men, with Mane and Park in the respective roles. Following that, Sabretooth was played by Liev Schreiber in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. As for Toad, a younger version of the character turned up in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past with Evan Jonigkeit in the role. Knowing the Deadpool movies’ humor, we wouldn’t be surprised if there are some easter egg nods to those iterations.

Deadpool 3, like so many other highly anticipated movies, halted production amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. Thankfully, director Shawn Levy and company snapped right back into production once the union and studios settled. It is now on target for a July 26th release date after numerous delays from its original September 2024 release.

Throwbacks like the inclusion of Sabretooth and Toad fit in nicely with Wolverine bringing back the classic yellow and blue suit that is most associated with the character. There, too, is Jennifer Garner as Elektra, reprising a role she hasn’t played since her standalone 2005 movie. No doubt fans of the series will be getting even more goodies when Deadpool 3 comes out this summer.

Deadpool 3 will also again feature Morena Baccarin as Vanessa and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al.

How do you feel about Sabretooth and Toad – as played by Taylor Mane and Ray Park – returning? Which other X-Men characters would you want to see pop up? Chime in below!
