The Assignment Walter Hill Michelle Rodriguez

We know there are many "masters of horror" to choose from, but there are masters of other genres out there as well, and one filmmaker who could definitely be called a master of action is director Walter Hill. In the past, Hill has provided us with the likes of THE WARRIORS, 48 HRS., EXTREME PREJUDICE, RED HEAT, and BULLET TO THE HEAD, and now he's back with THE ASSIGNMENT, which will be receiving a limited theatrical release on April 7th.

THE ASSIGNMENT stars Michelle Rodriguez as

a hitman who is double-crossed by gangsters and forced to undergo sex-reassignment surgery as punishment, then seeks revenge against them and the surgeon.

Also in the cast are Tony Shalhoub, Anthony LaPaglia, and Caitlin Gerard, with Sigourney Weaver as the surgeon.

With the film just over a week away from release, today we have a couple THE ASSIGNMENT EXCLUSIVES to share. First up is a clip from the movie that's called "Re-Assignment" and gives a preview of what appears to be the moment when the hitman wakes up as a woman. The 50 second clip is followed by the trailer.

We've also been given a look at a very cool alternate poster for the film. That can be seen below the video embed.

THE ASSIGNMENT was written by Walter Hill and Dennis Hamill, based on a script that was originally written in the 1970s. This is an action/revenge tale forty years in the making.
