Kevin Bacon says Tremors is the only movie of his that he has rewatched

Tremors, Kevin Bacon

Kevin Bacon has an impressive filmography that includes films like Apollo 13, Footloose, Mystic River, Stir of Echoes, and many more, but I would've never guessed the only film that the actor has chosen to revisit out of his list of credits. As it turns out, Kevin Bacon has only rewatched his turn as Valentine McKee in 1990's Tremors

Bacon recently talked with "Esquire" about his films and he revealed that he doesn't like to look back on his career at all but the one exception to that rule has been his role in Tremors. The unlikely creature feature hit is the one film he has rewatched over the years:

"It was one film of mine that I wanted to revisit that character. I don't look back at all. In fact, Tremors is the only movie of mine that I have rewatched since it's come out."

Tremors is a western-themed monster horror comedy and, in the film, tired of their dull lives in the small desert town of Perfection, Nevada, repairmen Val McKee (Bacon) and Earl Bassett (Fred Ward) try to skip town. However, they happen upon a series of mysterious deaths and a concerned seismologist Rhonda (Finn Carter) studying unnatural readings below the ground.  With the help of eccentric survivalist couple Burt and Heather Gummer (Michael Gross and Reba McEntire), the group fights for survival against, giant, wormlike monsters hungry for human flesh. The film only grossed $16.7 million on a $10 million budget but it went on to become a huge cult classic and it spawned a franchise that included five direct-to-video sequels, one prequel, and a TV series in 2003.

In retrospect, it makes sense that Kevin Bacon would revisit Tremors because he was attached to a second Tremors TV series that was set to air in 2018. Bacon reprised his role as Valentine McKee in the pilot but multiple networks, including Syfy, passed on the series, but the trailer has found its way to YouTube so we can all think about what might have been.

Are YOU surprised that Tremors is the only film that Kevin Bacon has rewatched from his filmography?
