La Casa: trailer unveiled for true story horror film

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Listen, when a horror movie says it's "inspired by true events", I'm always wary (since that label was given to films like Psycho and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which were both based – very loosely – on prolific serial killer Ed Gein). However, both Psycho and Texas Chainsaw Massacre were great movies, so dubious "true story" status aside, there's nothing to say that La Casa can't also be great as well. And now Epic Pictures has released a new, spooky trailer (which you can watch at the top of the article), so you can see for yourself!

Here's the official synopsis:

Inspired by real events. Responding to an urgent call for help, a police officer becomes trapped by the evil spirits of a cursed house. Searching for an escape, he must battle against the malevolent forces which are determined to drag him to hell.

Meanwhile, La Casa – directed by Jorge Olguín and starring Camila Carreño, Carlos Cortés, Carol Campos, Daniel Caceres, Felipe Silva, and Gabriel Cañas – will be released on VOD January 19, 2021, and Blu-ray February 2!

So what do you guys think? And what are your favorite horror movies inspired by "true events"? Either way, sound off below!
