After Marvel's Cloak & Dagger landed on Freeform, an ABC channel which is geared towards teenagers and young adults, that probably should have been a good indication of what to expect. The first trailer for the upcoming Marvel TV series has been released and it definitely doubles down on the teenage angst. In fact, nothing overly superhuman comes into play until past the minute mark. Still, that's not to say that the series will be bad, just something different.
I know next to nothing about the character's comic-book counterparts, so I can't speak to how accurate Cloak & Dagger represents them, but those of you who are down for the Young Adult adventures of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) may find something to like.

Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) – two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.
Cloak & Dagger's ten-episode first season is expected to debut on Freeform in early 2018.
