Assemble the electric guitars and cue the Wonder Woman theme song because Gal Gadot is thrilled to share new details about Wonder Woman 3! According to a featured article in Flaunt Magazine, and Gadot herself, she’s met with James Gunn and Peter Safran about Diana’s future, which looks bright!

Gadot recently told Flaunt Magazine about meeting with DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran about Wonder Woman 3. What she learned is encouraging, as it now sounds like the threequel is definitely happening and that Gadot’s role as the Princess of Themyscira is firmly intact. When asked about the meeting, Gadot revealed the following to Flaunt Magazine:

“I was invited to a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran [co-chairperson and CEO of DC alongside Gunn] and what they told me, and I’m quoting: ‘You’re in the best hands. We’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3 with you. [We] love you as Wonder Woman— you’ve got nothing to worry about.’ So time will tell.”

After DC Studios scrapped Patty Jenkins’ plans for Wonder Woman 3, it looked like Gal Gadot’s time as the Amazonian princess had ended. A burn on the wound would sear as DC featured Gadot in not one, but two cameos as Diana in Shazam: Fury of the Gods and The Flash. While Wonder Woman’s cameo in The Flash felt like it could be the last time we see Gadot’s version of the lasso-wielding heroine, today’s news bodes well for a future where she continues the role.

Flaunt Magazine’s article arrives one day before the debut of Gadot’s new Netflix action film Heart of Stone. In Heart of Stone, Gadot’s Rachel Stone is an intelligence operative for a shadowy global peacekeeping agency who races to stop a hacker from stealing its most valuable and dangerous weapon.

Tom Harper directs from a script by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder. Matthias Schweighöfer (Army of the DeadArmy of Thieves), Jamie Dornan (Barb and Star Go to Vista Del MarFifty Shades of Grey), Alia Bhatt (HighwayGully Boy), and Archie Madekwe (MidsommarBeau Is Afraid) also star as members of the main cast.

The film features Gadot in one of her most action-packed roles after kicking ass and taking names in Wonder Woman and the Fast and Furious franchise. Heart of Stone debuts on Netflix on Friday, August 11, giving subscribers another reason to make their movie plans at home this weekend.
