Flash Gordon returns

It seems like classic pulp heroes are all the rage. We already heard that Buck Rogers was making a comeback, and now Sony is hoping FLASH GORDON will save every one of us.

The studio has Breck Eisner (SAHARA) attached to direct the latest version of famous sci-fi character, who along with friends Dr. Zarkov and Dale Arden battles against the forces of despot Ming the Merciless on the alien world Mongo. Neal Moritz, a mastermind of noisy and brainless entertainment (xXx, FAST AND THE FURIOUS, STEALTH, etc.), is producing the planet-hopping adventure.

FLASH is probably best known from the deliciously cheesy 1980 flick (“All beings shall make merry… under pain of death”), and was seen most recently on the Sci-Fi Channel’s somewhat pedestrian series.
