Eli Roth's Invasion

I'm not sure what has inspired Eli Roth's newfound alien kick, but I think it's a big step up from pooping out another HOSTEL installment. We already know about his one probably-about-aliens project, ENDANGERED SPECIES, but he’s now involved in producing another one titled INVASION, which is said to be "CLOVERFIELD-esque."

Do NOT confuse this with Nicole Kidman’s horrendous remake of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, it’s a new project based on a script by Ben Magid. Here’s what little plot we know, according to ShockTillYouDrop:

Plot details are being kept under wraps at this time, however, we know the film opens with a wicked subway accident in Los Angeles in which the survivors (the film's protagonists) climb from the wreckage to find the, now "snowy," city in ruins. What they encounter topside is bodies, mobs of people in a state of panic and acidic "goo."

A snowy, body covered, goo-filled city? Sounds like Detroit. Hey-oh! It’s OK, I’m from there. More details on INVASION as they emerge.

Extra Tidbit: I'm not sure if "CLOVERFIELD-esque" or "TWILIGHT-ish" is the film industry adjective of the year.

I've been saying since HOSTEL if this guy does something different it'll pay in gold. I really feel like THE HOSTEL films were holding him back.

What if a film was both "CLOVERFIELD-esque" and "TWILIGHT-ish"? Tweens in love on the run from Godzilla?

I think it sounds pretty solid. I've avoided the HOSTEL films so I'm not especially tainted to Roth, but this isn't a HOSTEL film so maybe everyone else could give him a chance.

A stupid nitpick from me but...
... call it something else, damnit! We already have, well, a few movies named "Invasion." Someone creative: grab a couple of key words and knock them together until they fit. It's not that hard to get a distinguishing title. Here, I'LL try:
"Acidic Alarm"
… because of the ‘acid’ and ‘panic’ aspects. Or, for a classier angle
"Igoo"
you see, it's like Igloo, but withou...

you see, it's like Igloo, but without the 'l' and with emphasize on the 'goo' ... because there's snow and goo...

I'll take my paycheck now.

sounds pretty boring... but I guess we can't judge by minor plot details.

Eli Roth never did ANYTHING for me. Both Hostels were a complete failure in my opinion and a waste of my time.

*Yawn*

Maybe Roth should just stick to the torture porn he's known for.
