The death toll rises in the red-band trailer for Life

LIFE follows six astronauts aboard the space station study a sample collected from Mars that could provide evidence for extraterrestrial life. As it happens, it does! Then the creature seems to grow exponentially and go on a murderous rampage. Bogus! This red-band trailer provides a few cringe-worthy moments in terms of scares, but also gives you a pretty good idea of how's going to bite the bullet, so watch at your own risk!

If we're to take anything from this trailer, it's that Sony used some B-roll footage from SPIDER-MAN 3 for one of the crowd shots (keep an eye out for the guy with the flip phone). Seriously, I don't know how "the internet" catches on to these things so fast, but I love that they do! With that said, I don't think one stolen shot is going to make or break what looks to be a generic B-movie thriller.

LIFE opens in theaters on March 24, 2017.

Excited for this, but the spoilerish trailer doesn't help in terms of confidence from the marketing department.

I'll wait for early reviews to pour in before I decide if I'm going to see it or not. If it garners at least a 60% at Rotten Tomatoes, I'll give it a shot. The effects look good and the cast (Jake Gyllenhaal & Hiroyuki Sanada) is fine. What I find perplexing is the writing team, Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick. They're the two behind the screenplay for Zombieland and Deadpool. While that's cool, these trailers have not led me to believe anything "cool" will happen. This looks like another rote

I'll watch it.

It doesn't look groundbreaking or anything but it looks like a decent space thriller. I mean, I'm glad to see the studio keep the R rating.

This movie looks terribly lame. I mean... how many clichés can you shove in 2 minutes?!
