A poster and trailer for the Bob Marley documentary, succinctly titled MARLEY, has hit the net. Magnolia picked up the film a couple of weeks ago and hasn’t wasted any time on getting the promo materials out there.
Kevin MacDonald (THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND, TOUCHING THE VOID) directed this doc and they’ve got this great poster and trailer out already.
However, I do find it very bizarre that the trailer seems to insinuate that Marley was killed in a shooting. A mad gunman did break into his home and shot him, his wife, and his manger- but all three survived the attack. Marley died a few years later due to a malignant melanoma, but I guess that’s not as exciting.
Still find it hysterical that they’re opening the film on April 20th (4/20) theatrically and on VOD.
