Assassin’s Creed Valhalla trailer brings the franchise into the Viking Age

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

The cinematic trailer for the next installment of the long running Assassin's Creed franchise debuted this morning, showing off plenty of blood and battles in the era of the Viking Age. Assassin's Creed Valhalla will let you play as Eivor, "a mighty Viking raider and lead your clan from the harsh shores of Norway to a new home amid the lush farmlands of ninth-century England. Explore a beautiful, mysterious open world where you'll face brutal enemies, raid fortresses, build your clan's new settlement, and forge alliances to win glory and earn a place in Valhalla." I only got into the Assassin's Creed franchise over the past two years, but have greatly enjoyed both Origins and Odyssey, so I'll certainly be giving Valhalla a shot as well.

Valhalla will be putting a large emphasis on growing your Viking settlement, which you can do by recruiting new clan members and building up-gradable structures such as barracks, the blacksmith, a tattoo parlour, and much more. The game will also feature a large open-world map, which will allow you to sail across the icy North Sea to discover and conquer the broken kingdoms of England. During these raids, you'll lead your people against Saxon armies and fortresses and unleash the ruthless fighting style of a Viking warrior, dual-wielding axes, swords, and shields against your foes.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is now available to pre-order and is slated to launch by Holiday 2020 on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Stadia, and PC.
