Evil gets rebooted as internet demons invade the Nekrotronic trailer

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

If you're in the market for something weird and wild this afternoon, you need look no further than the off-the-wall trailer for NEKROTRONIC, an upcoming action horror sci-fi feature from Momentum Pictures that looks just as batshit crazy as the film's premise suggests.

Directed and co-written by Kiah Roache-Turner (WYRMWOODL ROAD OF THE DEAD), with Tristan Roache-Turner also on scripting duties, NEKROTRONIC has been hailed by the Nerdist as cinematic roller coaster ride that "feels like Quentin Tarantino had been watching a lot of Edgar Wright and Wachowski movies, and then decided to make a Ghostbusters film." To me, NEKROTRONIC looks as if Roache-Turner ate an entire page of Sunshine acid then managed to film all of the hallucinations running rampant inside his head. If you're a fan of visually splendiferous films like MANDY, FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS and ENTER THE VOID, you are totally going to want to check this one out.

Here's the official synopsis for NEKROTRONIC:

Howard North,  a down on his luck sewage worker, gets dragged into a global conflict between the Nekromancers, a family of badass demon hunters, and Finnegan (Monica Bellucci) – an evil demon who absorbs people's souls to increase her power. When Howard finds out the truth behind Finnegan's past and her dark plans for the future, he teams up with his new friends to discover he is the ultimate Nekromancer, the only one with the power to defeat her and save the world.

Leading this madcap mindfuck of a movie is The Lord of the Rings movie series alum David Wenham and MonicaBelluci (THE MATRIX: RELOADED), with Ben O'Toole (HACKSAW RIDGE), Caroline Ford (CARNIVAL ROW, ONCE UPON A TIME), Tess Haubrich (THE WOLVERINE, ALIEN: COVENANT) and Epine Bob Savea.

Yo, I don't know about you, but this looks right up my alley. Personally, I'm always down for a balls-to-the-wall science-fiction film that looks as if its taken what Terrance McKenna once refered to as a "heroic dose" of psilocybin mushrooms (three dried grams). As your attorney I advise you to call your most trustworthy dealer or legal cannabis distributor and place a hefty order of good times for this one.

NEKROTRONIC will come barreling into select theaters like a Molly-stuffed maniac looking for the Lost City of Phantasma and digital HD on August 9, 2019.
