Interview: 8-Bit Christmas Stars Steve Zahn and June Diane Raphael

With the holidays coming at us swiftly, it’s no surprise that the Christmas movies are already starting to ring in the season. Thankfully, one of those movies harkens back to classics like Elf and A Christmas Story. 8-Bit Christmas tells the tale of how young Jake Doyle got his first Nintendo. It’s sweet, it’s funny, and it’s pretty damn entertaining all around. The new film, directed by Michael Dowse, features charming performances from the always reliable Steve Zahn and June Diane Raphael. It also stars the great Neil Patrick Harris as the adult version of Jake, with Winslow Fegley taking on the younger years. If you are looking for a family comedy that will go down easy for everyone, 8-Bit Christmas may be perfect for you.

Recently, we had the joyful opportunity to speak with the cast of this adorable film. First up, we spoke with the very talented twosome of Zahn and Raphael. The two are perfect as parents trying to do their best to make their children’s holiday magical. For Steve, he opened up about playing a less goofy version of the family film dad, and it works. He’s terrific here. The same is true for Ms. Raphael. She talks about playing in this world and finding the humor and heart in what could be a brand new holiday classic. Start your holiday entertainment early, with 8-Bit Christmas starting to bring a little cheer to 2021. And stay tuned for more interviews with Neil Patrick Harris and Winslow Fegley.
