No matter how many decades pass, no matter what other characters Holt McCallany may play in his career, he will always be CREEPSHOW 2's Sam Whitemoon to me. McCallany has almost 80 acting credits to his name and Whitemoon was only his second acting role, but the character made such an impression on me, and I find him so entertaining to watch, that every time I see McCallany I think to myself (or exclaim out loud), "That's Sam Whitemoon!" And then usually mention that he expected his hair to get him paid and laid once he made it to Hollywood. There ain't no dust in Hollywood, man.

Due to my Sam Whitemoon fandom, I always appreciate seeing McCallany in anything. He will next been seen in the Netflix serial killer thriller series Mindhunter, which is coming to us from executive producers Joshua Donen, Cean Chaffin, Charlize Theron, and David Fincher (who McCallany worked with on ALIEN 3 and FIGHT CLUB).

Based on the book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit by authors John Douglas and Mark Olshaker, Mindhunter centers on

two FBI agents who set out on a sinister investigative odyssey to discover the brutal answers to the question "How do we get ahead of crazy if we don't know how crazy thinks?"

Not only does McCallany star in the series, but in the promo below he gets to warn a fellow agent that a serial killer is "gonna have sex with your face".

McCallany's co-stars include Jonathan Groff, Anna Torv, and Hannah Gross. Episodes were directed by Fincher, Asif Kapadia, Tobias Lindholm, and Andrew Douglas.

Mindhunter will be available to binge watch on Netflix as of Friday, October 13th.
