Blood will spill in new trailer for Netflix’s zombie series Kingdom

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

I only became aware of Netflix's South Korean zombie series Kingdom earlier this year, but I quickly became a convert. Taking place during Korea's Joseon period in a land where corruption and famine run rampant, a mysterious plague will force the kingdom to band together when it transforms the infected into blood-thirsty monsters. The crown prince (Ju Ji-hoon) sets out to discover the cause of the plague and save his people, along with his personal guard, Moo-Young (Kim Sang-ho), a physician, Seo-Bi (Bae Doo-na), and a mysterious wanderer, Yeong-Shin (Kim Sung-kyu).

"As winter approaches, the battle between the living and the undead in Joseon is just beginning," reads the official synopsis. "The royal court is teeming with snakes, the zombies are coming, and the crown prince has a nation to save. The worst is yet to come, and everyone will need to choose a side without knowing who they can really trust." Along with including a few interesting additions to zombie mythology, Kingdom also features political intrigue, great fight scenes, and some particularly gruesome visuals. Give it a shot, you might just love it.

The second season of Kingdom will debut on Netflix on March 13th.
