Now that STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS has finally hit theaters, when should we expect the first trailer for ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY? Well, Star Wars Time is claiming they've heard that the first look at the Gareth Edwards-directed spinoff will debut when CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR opens on May 6th, which makes perfect sense since Disney owns both Lucasfilm and Marvel.

The trailer will more than likely drop online before the release of CIVIL WAR, however I wouldn't be surprised if we end up seeing it even sooner. You may remember that the second STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS teaser premiered at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim in April of last year, and Disney's ZOOTOPIA and THE JUNGLE BOOK are due out on (respectively) March 4th and April 15th, so I think there's also a good chance the trailer will come attached to one of those films, especially the latter.

ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY is the first of a planned series of stand-alone movies that take place in the Star Wars universe, and will follow a rogue band of resistance fighters who unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans. When do you think the first trailer will be released, and what do you hope to see in it?

ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY will be in theaters on December 16, 2016.
