The Bear, Season 2, Hulu, steaming

Order up! FX‘s intense kitchen drama, The Bear, is serving significant numbers after the show’s Season 2 return. All episodes of the second season debuted on the streamer on Thursday, quickly becoming the most-watched premiere of any FX series on Hulu. In addition to the dramedy’s impressive opening, many more people are tuning in for the show. Analytics show The Bear experienced a 70% increase in total hours streamed over the first season. This staggering total is after just four days of being on the air.

The Bear follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a young chef who, after experiencing a fall from grace in the fine dining world, takes his talents to a family-owned sandwich shop – The Original Beef of Chicagoland. As Carmy adjusts to his situation, he sorts the trauma inflicted by losing his brother and the trials and tribulations of running a small business on the brink of collapse. With the help of his co-workers, Carmy discovers a found family he never thought he’d have while preparing for an uncertain future.

During the season one finale of The Bear, Carmy discovers a stash of money. The cash is a gift from his late brother, Michael (Jon Bernthal). Presumably, there’s enough scratch to bring The Original Beef out of debt and reinvent the space in Carmy’s intended vision for the struggling locale. Is money enough to answer all their prayers, or will it bring more issues? You know what they say, mo money mo problems.

In Season 2, the crew of The Original Beef gut the restaurant to make way for an upgraded space. Transitions unfold as they sift through the debris, bringing old memories and aspirations to the surface. Some crew members have big dreams and wonder if Carmy’s new restaurant is where their innermost desires can come true. Despite coming into a significant amount of money, the future is still uncertain, and they’ll need to rely on each other to sort through the rubble and forge a new path.
