Ace Ventura

Some ideas are so brilliant that, while you kind of wonder how no one has thought of them before, you're just glad that somebody did. I can't think of any examples at the moment but, to help you understand the kind of idea I'm talking about, let me offer you this antithesis: Morgan Creek is producing a third ACE VENTURA installment that will focus on Ace's son, who steps into his father's shoes to take over the family business. This means that someone important caught wind of this project, thought back to the gems that are SON OF THE MASK and DUMBER AND DUMBERER: WHEN HARRY MET LLOYD, and said "Genius! Let me rustle up some cash." The movie will be written by Jeff Sank and Jason and Justin Heimberg.

Source: Hollywood Reporter

Extra Tidbit: Lauren Holly screen-tested for but turned down the role that eventually went to Courteney Cox in ACE VENTURA: PET DETECTIVE. Holly then starred in DUMB & DUMBER with Jim Carrey less than a year later.

They had a classic with the first one
There was no need for a second instalment let alone a third!

Just End This
Are you joking me!? Seriously, this sudden obsession that hollywood has for making sequels is just getting retarded. Now I'm not saying Ace Ventura was a great piece of filmmaking but it was funny nonetheless. Just stop making these sequels, let the good films rest in peace. P.S. Someone needs to put a beat down on these smacktard studio execs.

Why?
If they didn't learn the lesson from New Line, they deserve to lose money on this film.

Didn't New Line Cinema teach them anything about...
... the flops that were Son of the Mask and Dumb & Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd? Just say no Morgan Creek. After the Summer flops, WB should be happy they're not home to this production company since MC is at Universal now.

Hehehe...I love how this article was written. Oh and surely, this HAS to be, by far, the best idea that I've never had the opportunity to yet have heard Hollywood announce!
