Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead to return in Deadpool 2

DEADPOOL was a surprise smash at the box-office last year (has it been so long?), with its irreverent tone, well-staged action, and a pitch-perfect Deadpool performance by star Ryan Reynolds. After the much-publicized outing of original director Tim Miller, everyone's been wondering how the sequel (now being helmed by JOHN WICK co-director David Leitch) is going to turn out.

Well, during an interview with Collider, co-writer Rhett Reese (after a bit of hesitation from fellow co-writer Paul Wernick) gave away the fact that none other than fan favorites from the first film Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead will be making a return! They'll be joining the as-of-yet uncast Cable and Domino. No more details were given, other than Wernick adding: "they'll be making an appearance", which could mean they're going to be only a cameo, or their roles will be expanded. Only time will tell.

Either way, this is great news! These characters were easily my favorite part of the film, and I'm hoping they get a couple of good scenes in the sequel (however, with the ever-expanding cast, I would have no problem if they're just a cameo). But if they can find a way to expand their roles without making the film bloated, that'd be the best case scenario.

The highly-anticipated DEADPOOL 2 will break the fourth wall and make pop-culture/dick jokes January 2nd, 2018.
