A new trailer for the NC-17 Michael Fassbender film Shame

Here comes SHAME. Today sees the release of a pretty intriguing trailer for the film (embedded below), which stars Michael Fassbender as "Brandon, a New Yorker who shuns intimacy with women but feeds his desires with a compulsive addiction to sex. When his wayward younger sister (Carey Mulligan) moves into his apartment stirring memories of their shared painful past, Brandon's insular life spirals out of control."

Director Steve McQueen- yes, I did a double-take too- has amassed a huge amount of praise for his film far, and got a lot of positive attention when it was revealed that they were going to release it in theaters with an NC-17 rating. Not many films will take that rating well, but they seem to be just fine with it, even if many theaters won't screen a film with all that scary sexuality in it. The horror!

SHAME will open in North American theaters on December 2nd.

The Aristocrats

The last NC-17 film I saw in the theater (actually the only one) was The Aristocrats which proved to be deadly boring. We walked out after 1/2 hour of the same joke and snuck into 40 year old virgin. This looks a bit more promising. Magneto getting his freak on... Gotta love it.

Sweet

My theater better get this. I am so glad they kept it NC-17 blue valentine was goin to be that but they decided to make it R. and kept the sex scene in which wasn't all that bad at I thought. But I am happy films go places some films don't and it's nice to see they are putting it in reg theaters and not art house ones. NC-17 should be look upon as any other rating but many folks these days are so scared of it. And that's just sad. Don't see it then, don't ruin it for other people because most
