The first trailer for Bullet Train has been released and it finds Brad Pitt being under attack from 13 ruthless assassins.

In the action-comedy from director David Leitch which is based on the novel “Maria Beetle” by Kōtarō Isaka, Bullet Train follows Pitt’s Ladybug, Joey King’s Prince, Andrew Koji’s Kimura, Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Tangerine, Brian Tyree Henry’s Lemon, and Zazie Beetz’s Hornet, five assassins who venture abroad the titular Japanese locomotive. They’re in pursuit of various targets and as they begin their work, the five assassins come to learn that their assignments are interconnected and they have to figure out a way to survive the trip.

The trailer is wonderfully set to the tune of a Japanese cover of the Bee Gees’ 1977 hit “Staying Alive” and it certainly has me pumped for of my most anticipated films of the year. The movie looks like it’s full of action and offbeat humor and its stacked cast is probably worth the price of admission on its own. It also looks like we’re going to get some intense stunts in this film and Greg Rementer, who previously worked with Leitch as a stunt coordinator on Hobbs & Shaw, stated that Brad Pitt did about 95% of his own stunts.

In addition to the aforementioned cast members, the film also stars Masi Oka, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Hiroyuki Sanada, Karen Fukuhara, Bad Bunny, and Sandra Bullock. With a screenplay penned by Zak Olkewicz, Bullet Train is expected to hit screens on July 15, 2022.
