Jurassic Park (1993) vs Jurassic World (2015): Face-Off

With the impending release of Colin Trevorrow‘s Jurassic World: Dominion bringing a close to the second trilogy in the ongoing Jurassic franchise, and if audience interest, and more importantly for those studio ‘suits’, the numbers, stack up, it won’t be the last we see of the genetically-modified dinosaurs. There seems to be no stopping these “extinct” dinos and the appetite is clearly still there for fans wishing to see unwitting lawyers taking a dump being eaten by T-Rexes or unfortunate personal assistants being mercilessly attacked by flying Pterosaurs before ultimately being devoured by a giant aquatic monster. Some people are just sick! And by some people, we mean us of course.

Both Jurassic trilogies have their fair share of breathtaking as well as polarizing moments for fans and when Steven Spielberg took on the challenge of adapting the excellent book, JURASSIC PARK, by Michael Crichton, the spectacle he created was akin to the first time audiences saw that Star Destroyer rumble across cinema screens in 1977 during the opening scene of Star Wars: A New Hope. The characters’ expressions of wonder were matched by the audience’s as that Brachiosaurus towers above them. However, now that the dust is settling on the JURASSIC WORLD trilogy, it’s the perfect time to determine which of the Jurassic series’ initial installments stands as tall and proud as a fully grown T-Rex and which should be left as a fossil. If we covered the entire Jurassic franchise, would there be an obvious winner overall? We wouldn’t be so sure, after all, have you SEEN Jurassic Park 3? Since Dominion hasn’t quite reached cinemas yet, we’re concentrating on the first movie from both franchises to see which gives the better dinosaur action for its buck.

So pop some champagne and hop on your bike with some Raptor pals because you know what it’s time for… FACE OFF!
