Netflix unveils new supernatural series with The Innocents teaser trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Young love is a rough business, particularly when parents decide to step in and lay down the law on who their child is "allowed" to date. In Netflix's upcoming supernatural teen drama series THE INNOCENTS, Harry (Percelle Ascott) and June (Sorcha Groundsell) run away from their repressive family lives to be together. But this journey of self-discovery might end up derailing their innocent dream, especially when they learn about secrets their parents kept from them. Dun dun dunnnn!

While the teaser trailer doesn't provide much in the way of details, THE INNOCENTS is said to contain a supernatural bent that will find the show's characters struggling to pick up the shattered pieces of their respective relationships. Will the teen union yeild mutant-like abilities? Do mirrors perhaps play a role in the idea of worlds and realities breaking apart, leaving our lovers desperate to return from the other side?

Created and written by Hania Elkington (THE NORTH LONDON BOOK OF THE DEAD) and Simon Duric (THE CROWN, BLACK MIRROR), with Guy Pearce also set to star, THE INNOCENTS looks to tell a dark tale of forbidden love, harsh lessons learned, and perhaps a few things that go bump in the night.

As of the moment, THE INNOCENTS has not been given an official release date. Be sure to check back here when more details are announced.
