It was only a couple of weeks back when we learned that John McNaughton's long-awaited new film THE HARVEST would be arriving in theaters and on VOD on April 10, and today we have the official trailer for the Michael Shannon-starring thriller to share with you.

I'm a fan of McNaughton's earlier works THE BORROWER and the classic HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER, so I'm stoked to see what he delivers with THE HARVEST. The new trailer below does a solid job of selling me on wanting to peep this one ASAP, so I know I'll be taking the time to check it out on VOD this Friday. Watch the trailer below and see if it grabs your attention like it did mine.

Maryann (an impressive Natasha Calis) moves in with her grandparents after she’s orphaned. Desperately lonely, the preteen sets out to befriend a neighboring deathly ill, bed-ridden boy (Charlie Tahan), despite the outright disapproval of his mother (Samantha Morton). Maryann’s persistence pays off, however, and during a series of secret visits she gradually uncovers some seriously sinister goings-on in the house…

THE HARVEST stars Samantha Morton, Michael Shannon, Natasha Calis and Charlie Tahan. Look for it in theaters and on VOD this Friday, April 10.
