See Johnny Knoxville go for a short, painful ride in the first clip from Jackass Presents Bad Grandpa

I am not ashamed to say that I enjoy the JACKASS movies. Yeah, they are stupid and juvenile, but sometimes you need to turn off your brain and just enjoy some stupidity. After the third film and the untimely death of Ryan Dunn, I assumed the JACKASS brand would be no more. Then, the trailer for BAD GRANDPA hit the Internet and a big ass smile crossed my face.

These movies are never going to win any awards, but they do share something in common with Sacha Baron Cohen‘s BORAT and BRUNO in that they look at our society and reflect our values back on us. BAD GRANDPA especially gives us a glimpse into how people react when they don’t know they are being filmed. In an age where almost everyone knows they are on camera, it is refreshing to see what people do when they aren’t aware. Will they act like assholes or will they be decent people?

This first clip from BAD GRANDPA features Johnny Knoxville in character as Irving Zisman as he tries to help his grandson with a children’s ride outside of the store. Take a look at what happens:

86 year-old Irving Zisman is on a journey across America with the most unlikely companions, his 8 year-old Grandson Billy in “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa.” This October, the signature Jackass character Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) and Billy (Jackson Nicoll) will take movie audiences along for the most insane hidden camera road trip ever captured on camera. Along the way Irving will introduce the young and impressionable Billy to people, places and situations that give new meaning to the term childrearing. The duo will encounter male strippers, disgruntled child beauty pageant contestants (and their equally disgruntled mothers), funeral home mourners, biker bar patrons and a whole lot of unsuspecting citizens. Real people in unreal situations, making for one really messed up comedy.

This may be the cleanest of clips from BAD GRANDPA, but it still makes me laugh. Knoxville certainly puts himself through some painful shenanigans all in the name of making a movie. For that, I commend him. Hopefully no one ties any firecrackers to their genitals when BAD GRANDPA hits theaters on October 25, 2013.
