SyFy is already eyeing a sequel to last night’s surprise hit Sharknado

For those of you who watched SHARKNADO last night on SyFy, you know how f*cking terrible it was. In fact, it was so bad that it was actually good. I mean, director Anthony Ferrante already called the movie a $100 million screenplay made for the budget of the craft service table on THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. The movie is not the first shitty movie like this from SyFy or producers The Asylum, but it may be the most fun with the biggest “stars” in Ian Ziering and Tara Reid.

While the ratings were not earth-shattering, the huge response on social media is what is making the prospects of a sequel so promising. According to Deadline, SHARKNADO averaged 5000 tweets a minute for a total of 387,000 social media mentions. Several celebrities posted comments about the film ranging from Mia Farrow to Michael Chiklis. SyFy is even airing the film a second time on July 18th because of the buzz.

Who knows the possibilities for where this could go. BuzzFeed came up with some interesting ideas. Which would you like to see?
