Tales of the Walking Dead: Samantha Morton returns as Alpha for anthology series

Tales of the Walking Dead, Samantha Morton, Alpha

Although The Walking Dead may be nearing its end, the franchise will continue with a series of spinoffs. One of those spinoffs will be Tales of the Walking Dead, a six-episode anthology series that will feature a mix of new and familiar characters from across the Walking Dead universe. It seems that one of those familiar faces will be Samantha Morton, who played Alpha across two seasons of The Walking Dead.

Samantha Morton will once again play Alpha in Tales of the Walking Dead, making her the first actor from any of the previous shows to take part in the anthology series. Plot details are naturally being kept under wraps, but perhaps we might learn a little more about Alpha’s story pre-zombie apocalypse. In addition to Samantha Morton, the cast of Tales of the Walking Dead includes Terry Crews, Parker Posey, Jillian Bell, Olivia Munn, Embeth Davidtz, Anthony Edwards, Poppy Liu, Danny Ramirez, Loan Chabanol, and Jessie T. Usher. Are there any other Walking Dead actors you’d like to see return for the anthology series?

As I mentioned above, Tales of the Walking Dead isn’t the only spinoff series in the works. When the flagship series comes to an end later, a new spinoff will find Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus reprising their roles of Carol Peletier and Daryl Dixon. There’s also Isle of the Dead, which will find Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) travelling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror. Nick Stahl is also set to reprise his role of Riley from Fear the Walking Dead in a spin-off special titled Dead in the Water that will launch on AMC+ on April 10th.
