Hulk 2 villain Apr. 27, 2006

Hulk A recent article in Business 2.0 Magazine (via Comingsoon.net) on Marvel savior Avi Arad revealed this little nugget about the proposed villain for the HULK sequel: "For that villain, Arad has chosen one of his favorite baddies: Abomination, a former Yugoslav spy who has mutated into a 980-pound freak of terrifying strength and unpleasant demeanor," of which Arad mentions "He's capable of amazing feats." Well, I sure as hell hope so if he's a 980 pound behemoth who's as big and strong as Hulk. Arad has said before that the sequel won't be as preachy and philosophical as the original but will instead be a Hulk-lite and focus on the not-so-jolly green giant's more destructive behavior. So, we can expect to see Abomination and Hulk beat the absolute crap out of each other for a large portion of the film's runtime. Read the rest of the article, including what Arad had to say about the CAPTAIN AMERICA feature film over HERE.

I liked the first one, and as long as they get the original cast back, some good writing, and a good director, I think I'd be game for a sequel.

Get Leader, not Abomination (or at least include Leader). The 1st Hulk sucked for the most part. I liked the killer dogs part ok. The ending was crap, something you see on Get Leader, not Abomination (or at least include Leader). The 1st Hulk sucked for the most part. I liked the killer dogs part ok. The ending was crap, something you see on [link] movies. The "throw a tank across the desert and show unhurt tank personnel emerging" was just unbelievably stupid.

I loved the way the first movie showed the carnage and destruction the hulk can do but also the pain and inner-demons he faces with the fact of how his dad murdered his mom and his struggles with his love and her family.
Or maybe I just look too deep into it.
It was refreshing to see a superhero movie that actually tries more to dwelve into the inner workings of the character rather than just have a story of nerd-turned-badass.
Marvel hinted on this with a couple snippets of the backstories with X-Men but Warner Bros done it more so with the recent Batman Begins which both turned out to be box office successes.
But of course I've always liked backstories more than the current plot. If they made a movie of just one scene but showed all the stories and events leading up to it, I would probably still really enjoy it. So I guess to each their own.
Even if Hulk still turns out to be a mindless destructive monster in this movie blowing up and smashing the shit outta stuff then I will still go see it.

I did like the first Hulk, despite it's length, boredom, and philosophical attitude. I think the second will be much better all around.
