Update: "Smallville" fansite "Kryptonsite" spoke to Glover recently and he said he "knows nothing about" this rumor. Read more about it over HERE. Thanks to Inked Lawyer for the heads up.

John Glover pic You may know John Glover as Lex's ruthless father Lionel Luthor on The WB's "Smallville". Or, you may know him from his many film, television and stage appearances. He's quite a prolific actor and according to this site, one of his upcoming roles includes evil overlord "Skeletor" in the upcoming big budget feature adaptation of HE-MAN. In fact, that site isn't the only one reporting it. The Internet Movie Database also has Skeletor listed as one of his upcoming roles. Glover's a fantastic actor so there's no doubt that he could play the role brilliantly but Skeletor? Really? And by the way, this movie is still on? With John Woo? They're still doing that? What do you guys think? Any preferences for who should play Skeletor? Or He-Man? Thanks to saucy minx Jessica S for the heads up.

He-man could work
The He-man franchise could work if it was done correctly. Unfortunately, people would compare it to Conan the Barbarian, and Kull the Conqueror. Those movies were less than average, but if He-Man acquires the proper writers, and a director who loves adaptations, then this film has a lot of potential.

HAHA, when I saw the title I thought it meant danny glover as skeletor, that was a shock!

Anyway, bad bad bad bad bad idea. They shouldn't make a heman movie, john woo shouldn't be allowed to make any movies ever again for the rest of time, and any movies he already made should be burnt to a crisp and one should be sent to jail for mentioning his existance. But since none of that...

John Woo is all sorts of wrong...
...for He-Man. We gonna have doves and slow-mo dual laser pistol scenes in churches? Don't get me wrong...I love Face/Off and The Killer so I'm hip to that sort of thing but not in He-Man. Peter Jackson would be cool if they took an epic approach to it. Maybe even Guillermo Del Toro though I'd be afraid he would try horrorify it too much.

Also I agree with Wilka26, story should stay in Eternia and Kelly Hu should be Evil-Lyn. She's a belter! Skeletor should be a mix between CG and human actor (even though I think Skeletor in Dolph's version rocked). But who for He-Man/Adam?

He'd be a good choice
As long as we get a He-Man movie that is based in Eternia and we get a good actor to play He-Man. But who could play He-Man, it'd prolly have to be an unknown.

Yeah yeah, but the question is...
...what uber-hottie are they gonna get to play Teela ? Or Evil-Lyn ? Or (hoping they go into sequels and spin-offs) She-Ra ?

One thing's for certain: the only brown-haired MILF sexy enough to play He-Man's Earth-borne mom is Diane Lane, says I.

I wonder if the director of this interpretation of He-man will decide to keep the homoerotic undertones.
