A few days ago we caught wind a brilliant piece of viral marketing in the form of Jake Gyllenhaal taking job interviews way too seriously. The video was in promotion of Dan Gilroy‘s NIGHTCRAWLER, which tells the tale of a troubled young man who stumbles upon the world of freelance crime journalism. Now the official teaser trailer is here, giving you an idea of where the story is headed.

Check out the crazy:

I’m loving the performances I’m seeing thus far from Mr. Gyllenhaal and the limited screen time of the ever enigmatic Bill Paxton. Every now and again cinema stumbles onto those dark and deprived characters that we can’t get enough of, and it looks like Gilroy and Gyllenhaal crafted one within NIGHTCRAWLER. The film will have it’s world premiere at this year’s TIFF, but the masses will be able to check this out in October.

NIGHTCRAWLER, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Bill Paxton, and Rene Russo, will hit theaters on October 17, 2014.
