If you have a Shudder subscription, you might have already seen writer/director Brandon Christensen‘s horror film Superhost – but if you don’t have Shudder (or if you liked the movie and want to add a physical media copy to your collection), here’s some good news: RLJE Films will be bringing Superhost to VOD, Digital HD, DVD, and Blu-ray on February 1st! A trailer for the film can be seen in the embed above.

The film has the following synopsis:

Teddy and Claire are travel vloggers who run a channel called “SUPERHOST” where they travel and share their experiences in and around vacation homes, and until recently, had become successful doing it. With a dwindling subscriber count, they find the perfect opportunity to create content that people want to see when they meet Rebecca, the host of their most recent trip. Slowly they start to realize that something isn’t right with Rebecca, and as they investigate it further, they unlock a horrifying truth. She doesn’t just want a great review, she wants something far worse.

Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries, A Series of Unfortunate Events), Osric Chau (The Flash, Nancy Drew), Gracie Gillam (Z Nation, Scream Queens), and genre icon Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, Jakob’s Wife) star.

The DVD and Blu-ray discs will include these bonus features:

Director Commentary

Behind-the-Scenes of Superhost

Shooting in a Pandemic

Bloopers

Superhost Visual FX

Behind-the-Scenes Photo Gallery

“Scaredycats” Episodes 1 & 2

I put Superhost on Shudder one day and sort of just let it play in the background, so I can’t give much of an opinion on it, but I can confirm that Gracie Gillam makes some impressive crazy faces. As you can see on the poster.
