As with any high-profile production taking place outside the studio, there are bound to be paparazzi circling and leaking photos. We’ve seen more than a few spoilers emerge from the set of Deadpool 3, but Ryan Reynolds is fighting back by releasing a few spoiler-fill photos of his own on Twitter.
I can’t believe Disney is letting Reynolds get away with this. There are some mighty big reveals here, and I think most fans would have preferred to have experienced Urkel on the big screen. Tsk tsk, Reynolds.
In all seriousness, Ryan Reynolds did recently comment on the actual Deadpool 3 spoilers with a statement yesterday. “Surprises are part of the magic of theatrical movies,” Reynolds wrote. “It’s important for us to shoot the new DEADPOOL film in real, natural environments, using practical effects as opposed to making the movie indoors and digitally. Telephoto lenses continue to spoil surprises and create a difficult situation for everyone.“
Reynolds continued, “Here’s hoping some of the websites and social channels hold back showing images before they’re ready. The film is built for audience joy — and our highest hope is to preserve as much of that magic as possible for the finished film and the big screen. Part of the reason people post spoilers is because they’re excited. I realize these aren’t real world issues and it’s firmly in the ‘good problems’ bucket. I love making this movie.“
In addition to Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, the upcoming sequel will see the return of Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, and Rob Delaney as Peter. Deadpool 3 will also star Emma Corrin, who is expected to play the villain, and Matthew Macfadyen in an undisclosed role. Of course, the biggest addition to the Deadpool 3 cast is Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, who finally broke down after being pestered by Ryan Reynolds for so many years.
Deadpool 3 will hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
