Deadpool, Korg react to Free Guy trailer in mini MCU crossover

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Deadpool Reactions are back, and this time the Merc With a Mouth is going all Mystery Science Theater on the trailer for the upcoming Fox comedy Free Guy starring Ryan Reynolds.

Oh, but Wade won't be reacting to the trailer alone. This time around, he's brought Marvel's Korg (Taika Waititi) along for the ride, much to his dismay. Free Guy stars Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi, so I hope you're prepared for something very meta this afternoon.

This hilarious presentation has Deadpool finally crossing over to the MCU, which is something that fans have been waiting for. Maybe it's not exactly the way we all envisioned, but it's a start. Plus, who's to say that this isn't a sign of things to come? We all know that Marvel has plans to induct the Reynolds' assassin in the red pajamas to the MCU sometime down the road, so why not start with a little bit of cross-promotion?

In the reaction trailer, Deadpool takes potshots at Reynolds, an actor he loathes. The fourth-wall-breaking antihero and Korg also take a moment to express their mutual admiration for Jodie Comer, who plays the badass Millie in Fox's Free Guy.

Directed by Shawn Levy, Free Guy focuses on a bank teller called Guy (Ryan Reynolds), who realizes he is a background character in an open-world video game called Free City that will soon go offline. The film was supposed to be released eons ago, but the pandemic saw to that. Now, Free Guy is slated for an August 13 release. That is if it doesn't get delayed again.
