Tremors: Shrieker Island gets trailer, October release date, and cover art

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Earlier this month, we learned that the seventh film in the TREMORS franchise is titled TREMORS: SHRIEKER ISLAND (the working title had been ISLAND FURY), and that it has received a PG-13 rating for "creature violence, language throughout, some gore, and suggestive/drug references." We have known for a while that the movie is aiming for an October release, and now we know the exact date: Universal Home Entertainment will be giving TREMORS: SHRIEKER ISLAND a Blu-ray, DVD, VOD, and Digital release on October 20th.

The trailer can be seen above, and below you can get a low quality look at the DVD and Blu-ray cover art.

Directed by Don Michael Paul from a screenplay by Brian Brightly, the film has the following synopsis:

When a nature preserve in the Solomon Islands is infiltrated by Graboids, Ass Blasters, and Shriekers, two of the preserve’s top scientists recruit Burt Gummer (Michael Gross), monster hunter extraordinaire, to eradicate the infestation. While there, Burt picks up a potential new protégé and encounters lost love.

If you need more information than that, here's another synopsis:

When a group of wealthy trophy hunters genetically modify Graboid eggs to create the ultimate hunting experience, it isn’t long before their prey escapes the confines of their small island and begin terrorizing the inhabitants of a nearby island research facility. The head of the research facility and her second-in-command Jimmy locate the one man who is an expert in killing Graboids: the one and only and now reluctant, Burt Gummer. Once on board, Burt leads the group in an all-out war against the larger, faster, and terrifyingly intelligent Graboids and the swiftly multiplying Shriekers!

Franchise hero Michael Gross is joined in the cast by Richard Brake, Jon Heder, Jackie Cruz, Cassie Clare, Caroline Langrishe, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Matthew Douglas, Randy Kalsi, Bear Williams, David Asavanond, Boonma Lamphon, Aukrawut Rojaunawat, Iris Park, Mikey Black, Alex Winters, and Ron Smoorenburg, plus some Graboids, Shriekers, and Ass-Blasters.

While we wait for TREMORS: SHRIEKER ISLAND, all six previous TREMORS movies can be purchased in this collection. Completists will also want to pick up the episodes of the TV series.

Universal is also planning a seven film collection that will include the new film.
