Johnny Storm cast?

Latino Review is reporting this morning that Chris Evans, star of New Line's upcoming thriller CELLULAR, has been officially offered the role of Johnny Storm in THE FANTASTIC FOUR. They point out that their source is very reliable and is the same one that scooped to them that Michael Chiklis was in the running for Ben Grimm/The Thing (and scored them the first review of the updated script). So if it's true that Chris Evans was offered the role (and if he has been offered it, of course he's going to accept) and will star as The Human Torch, is this good news? Well... it's not great news, but it's not altogether terrible either. It's better than Paul Walker, that's for sure. The word on the street was that an announcement on the cast of the movie would hit this week but it looks like that might be delayed if offers are just going out now. But it is possible Fox and Marvel could have official news on the cast next week sometime. The frontrunners at this point seem to be Evans, Chiklis, Rachel McAdams as Sue Storm and Iaon Gruffudd as Reed Richards. Stay tuned to JoBlo.com for more as the cast of FF develops...
