Andy lays the blame on Chucky in new clip from the Child’s play reboot

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Even with a murderous doll on a rampage, poor Andy (Gabriel Bateman) can't find anyone to believe him in the latest clip from the upcoming CHILD'S PLAY reboot, even his mother (Aubrey Plaza). The new film has tweaked Chucky's origins this time around; instead of a serial killer performing a voodoo ritual in order to transfer his soul into a Good Guy doll, this new Chucky is more of an artificial intelligence gone wrong with the ability to control other smart-devices.

The contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic follows Karen (Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Bateman) a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature. That doll is voiced by the legendary Mark Hamill this time around, and producer Seth Grahame-Smith says that he was their "first choice," adding, "The fact that we have an icon reimagining an iconic character is just an incredible gift for us."

CHILD'S PLAY will hit theaters on June 21st.
