Vin Diesel We've run a few rumors about the upcoming, possibly McG directed, TERMINATOR 4 so why not throw another one into the mix? Last week, the folks over at AICN threw out a rumor that ambiguously ethnic action star Vin Diesel may be looking to star in the film, taking up where the current governor of California left off. Or maybe he'd be the bad guy. Or pretend to be the bad guy and actually be the good guy. Not much is known at this point. Of course, there is a high probability that this is a batshit crazy rumor but it's a slow news day and Diesel really does fit the Terminator mold perfectly - he is, after all, already quite adept at playing a monotone robotic boob. What do you guys think?

Source: AICN

Extra Tidbit: Diesel's real name is Mark Vincent.

Deja Vu
I remember about 6 years ago there was talk of "Up and coming action star Vin Diesel" starring in Terminator 3. It didn't happen, and neither will this.

In fact, I'm not even expecting Terminator 4 to get made.

R.I.P.
I continue to kid myself that this franchise is not dead yet. However, if Vin Diesel becomes involved, I think it will be safe to throw a handfull of dirt onto the coffin and say goodbye. I do, however, think it would rock if they got Michael Biehn to re-claim his original role.

I also agree, the movie should focus on the humans with the bots running around.

However, in the first one Kyle Reece says that the bots had the skin and stuff at one point. "Very hard to spot. I had to wait till he moved on you before I could zero him," were his words I think. But why cast a big name for that. At this point the only one who could be the terminator is Arnold,...

Diesel is too earnest of a badass, always got that desperate "I'm cool, NO REALLY I AM" deal going on.

I concur with servois. Why on earth is this role even necessary anymore? Come on, whatever you think of the upcoming Sarah Connor Chronicles, at least it's a step in the right direction. Focus on the human characters, and let them 'bots run around as secondaries. We wants ...

I just don't understand why they feel the need to cast someone as the Terminator. If the next movie is going to be about the war and the human resistance you don't need someone to fill that role. You only need the bad ass exo-skeletons running around.
