First Diamond trailer

This is a rather interesting tale of a lost script written by a famed playwright over forty years ago, a project that is just now seeing the light of day. For those of us young enough to think Tennessee Williams is a brand of whiskey, he's actually a hugely famous writer who penned A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE and BABY DOLL, both of which landed him Oscar nominations.
Both were collaborations with director Elia Kazan, and THE LOSS OF A TEARDROP DIAMOND was meant to be a third venture, but for whatever reason Kazan moved on and the script went into hibernation.
Well here we are forty years later, and Jodie Markell is taking up the reigns in a film that stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Evans. It’s about a socialite who loses a very expensive earring, but I’m guessing there’s quite a bit more to it than that.
ComingSoon got the exclusive trailer for the project which you can check out below.

If they'd put Will Patton in the teaser, that might be worth something as he always seems to hit the right note even in bad movies.
If this thing's been lost for fifty years, why didn't they start with a stage production and work from there?
